தமிழக அரசு வழங்கும் இலவசப் பொருட்களால், கிராமப்புறங்களில் மனித உழைப்பு குறைந்து வருகிறது. அரசியல் கட்சிகள் தேர்தல் நேரத்தில் மக்களை கவர்ந்து ஓட்டு பெறுவதற்காக, வாக்குறுதிகளை அள்ளி வீசுகின்றன. வெற்றி பெற்றதும் எதிர்க்கட்சிகளின் ஏளனத்திற்கு ஆளாகி விடக்கூடாது என்பதால், தேர்தல் வாக்குறுதிகளை நிறைவேற்ற பாடுபடுகின்றனர். இதன் விளைவு தான், இன்று தமிழக மக்களிடையே ஆட்டிப் படைத்து வரும் சோம்பேறித்தனம்.
சாதாரண நடுத்தர குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களுக்கு அரசு வழங்கக்கூடிய இலவசங் களை வைத்தே எளிதில் குடும்பம் நடத்தி விட முடியும் என்ற புதிய கலாசாரம், தமிழக மக்களிடையே ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இலவச "டிவி', காஸ், மண் ணெண்ணெய், குடிசைக்கு மின் சாரம், சைக்கிள், பாடநூல் உள் ளிட்ட பல திட்டங்களை செயல் படுத்தி வருகின்றன. இவற்றில் மாதந்தோறும் பணத் தை ஈட்டி தருவதற்கென்றே சில இலவசங்கள் வழங்கப்படுகின்றன.
நகரங்களில் வசிப்பவர்களுக்கு போதியளவு சமையல் காஸ் கிடைப்பதில்லை. ஆனால், கிராமப்புற மக்களுக்கு சமையல் காஸ் இணைப்பை அரசு இலவசமாக வழங்குகிறது. இதைப் பயன்படுத்த பலருக்கு தெரியாத காரணத்தாலும், கூடுதல் செலவு பிடிக்கும் என்பதாலும் இயற்கையில் கிடைக்கும் விறகில் சமையல் செய்து கொண்டு, அரசு வழங்கும் காஸ் சிலிண்டரை விற்பனை செய்து காசாக்கி வருகின்றனர்.
இதற்காக, 20 நாட்களுக்கு ஒருமுறை கிடைக்கின்ற காஸ் சிலிண்டரை 275 ரூபாய்க்கு வாங்கி ஓட்டலில் விற்றால், 525 ரூபாய் உடனடியாக பணம் கிடைக்கிறது. ரேஷன் அட்டை மூலம் கார்டு ஒன்றுக்கு கிடைக்கும் 10 லிட்டர் மண்ணெண்ணெய், லிட்டர் 8.60 ரூபாய்க்கு வாங்கி 25 ரூபாய்க்கு விற்பனை செய்வதன் மூலம் மாதம் ஒன்றுக்கு 164 ரூபாய் கூடுதலாகக் கிடைக்கிறது.
சாதாரண தொழிலாளர்கள் பெரும்பாலானோருக்கு முதியோர் பென்ஷன் தொகையாக மாதம் 400 ரூபாய் அரசு வழங்குகிறது. நூறு நாள் வேலை திட்டத்தின் மூலம் மாதத்திற்கு சராசரியாக 1,000 ரூபாய் கிடைக்கிறது. இவற்றின் மொத்த கூடுதல், மாதம் ஒன்றுக்கு 2,000 ரூபாயை எட்டுகிறது. இதுதவிர முதியோர்களுக்கு இலவச அரிசி, வேட்டி, சேலை, பொங்கல் பண்டிகை காலங்களில் பொங்கல் பொருட்கள், கர்ப்பிணி பெண்களுக்கு சத்துப் பொருட்கள் சாப்பிட கடைசி மூன்று மாதமும், குழந்தை பிறந்த பின்னர் மூன்று மாதமும் 6,000 ரூபாய் உதவித்தொகை, பள்ளிக்கு செல்லும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு இலவச உணவு, புத்தகம், திருமண உதவி என அனைத்து மே அரசு வழங்குகிறது.
மாதந்தோறும் அரசு மூலம் கிடைக்கின்ற இலவசங்கள் தான் அடித்தட்டு மக்களின் மனதை புரட்டிப் போட்டுள்ளது. "உழைத் தால் தான் உணவு' என்பதை பொய்யாக்கும் வகையில், உழைக்காவிட்டாலும் உணவு என அரசின் திட்டங்கள் மாற்றியுள்ளது. அரசின் இந்த இலவசங்கள் மூலம் கிடைக்கும் 2,000 ரூபாயில் கிலோ ஒரு ரூபாய் வீதம் 20 கிலோ அரிசி, மானியத்தில் கிடைக்கும் கோதுமை, ரவை, மைதா, மளிகை போன்ற பொருட்களை ரேஷன் கடைகளிலேயே 200 ரூபாயில் வாங்கி விடலாம். மீதியுள்ள 1,800 ரூபாயில் குடும்பத்திற்கு தேவையான அத்தியாவசிய, இதர பொருட் கள் வாங்கி எளிதில் குடும்பத்தை ஓட்ட முடியும் என்ற நிலை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
இதனால், கிராமங்களில் மாடு உழவு, களை எடுப்பது, அறுவடை போன்ற விவசாய வேலைகளுக்கு ஆட்கள் வருவதில்லை. என்ன தான் இயந்திரமயமாக்கலில் அரசு ஈடுபட்டாலும், இயந்திரத்தை இயக்குவதற்கும் மனித ஆற்றல் தேவை. இதனால், மனித ஆற்றல் பயன்படுத்தாத சவுக்கு, கரும்பு, பாமாயில், மூங்கில் போன்ற பயிர்களுக்கு விவசாயிகள் மாறி வருகின்றனர். இதனால், உணவு உற்பத்தி குறையும் அபாயம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
உலகளவில் மக்கள் தொகையில் இரண்டாம் இடம் வகிக்கும் நம் நாட்டுக்கு, அன்னிய நாட்டில் இருந்து உணவை இறக்குமதி செய்து சமாளிக்க முடியும் என்ற பேச்சுக்கே இடமில்லை என்பதால், அரசு வழங்கும் இலவசங்களை தகுதி உள்ளவர்களுக்கு வழங்கினால், உணவுக்காக அன்னிய நாட்டிடம் கையேந்த வேண்டிய நிலை ஏற்படாது.
குறைந்த விலைக்கு விற்கப்படும் அரசின் இலவச பொருட்கள் : அரசு வழங்கும் இலவசப் பொருட்கள் பல குடும்பங்களில் தேவையை விட கூடுதலாக இருப்பதால், குறைந்த விலைக்கு கடைகளில் விற்பனை செய்யப்படுகின்றன. ரேஷன் கார்டை வைத்து தான் இலவசங்கள் நிர்ணயிக்கப்படுகிறது. ஒரே குடும்பத்தில் மூன்று சகோதரர்கள் இருந்தால், அவர்களுக்கு தனித்தனியே ரேஷன் கார்டு வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
ஆனால், மூன்று வீடுகள் இல்லை. இது போன்ற குடும்பத்திற்கு ஒரு "டிவி' தான் பார்க்க முடியும். தேவையற்று கிடக்கும் இரண்டு "டிவி'க்களை 1,000 முதல் 1,200 ரூபாய் வரை மார்க்கெட்டில் விற்பனை செய்யப்படுகிறது. பண்டிகை காலங்களில் அரசு வழங்கும் இலவச வேட்டி, சேலையை பெரும்பாலான மக்கள் உடுத்துவதில்லை. இவை அனைத்தும் பாத்திரங்கள் விற்பனை செய்பவர்களிடம் வேட்டி, சேலை ஜதை ஒன்று வெறும் 40 ரூபாய்க்கு விற்கப்படுகிறது.

| The goal here is to keep the people dependent on the government for as long as possible and as unproductive as possible. This directly translates to more votes and power for the ruling party. Power is all these politicians care about. பதவி மற்றும் அதனால் வரும் அதிகாரம் தான் குறிக்கோள். நாட்டுபற்றாவது ஆட்டுப்பற்றாவது Now think about this - without the promises of free things like this, can DMK or ADMK or any party be in power in TN? People who can''t do are different from people who won''t do. In other words - இல்லாதவனெல்லாம் இயலாதவன் அல்ல. Popular things and Right things are not the same thing. Tamilnadu/India will be far better when the politicians realize this.

| i would like to say some thing before that i want to say that this artical is quit bold and exelant , and to the political parties dont treat people as a beggers and you dont want to provide the free things for them but you want to make the way or create the opertunity to them to work and fullfill their needs by them self but i think so it is not right way and there are so many peoples with out house try to consider in this also dont give free house this will make them very lasy try to collect them some money inorder to make them work try to create one thing in over people mind (if you dont work no life )this will make a right human and i had said about one thing only we can make a lot of jpob opertunities in various fields like police (make it as 12 hours shift like other countries and compel them to do their duities properly like this make a lot of opertunities like singapore make a punisments seviour to govt staffs if they make any mistakes compared to the ordinary persons like this in india we can make so many things try to consentrate on that not in free items

| Stetement which was given this article is 100% correct. I am also one of the person affected by this scheme. Now I am working in abroad, Because of workers shortage I have stopped my agriculture and sold my land to real estate party. Now they made a flots,but I donn''t Know how many will build the house there. Please do some thing to stop this type of schemes which realy no need.

| GOOD ARTICLE Last month also you have written article central government 100 days work guarantee program. Nothing is free in this world expert in India. Why a man or women has to work? To satisfy there need. All there needs are satisfied buy Government at free for vote then no one is willing to work. This will have effect in our economic in long run. Agricultural production will be less compare to our demand. And cost of production will increase. This thinks cannot stoped also, because people will get addict to this kind of free schemes. Next party also have to continue this kind of schemes and have to give more to retain the Power. Finally this will come to middle class and upper middle class people. To continue the un written schemes Government need money they will increase the Tax. I am not saying free to be stoped It should be given only to the needy people. FOR Example: • TV – TV is given to all even people working in MNC and NRI’s getting this free TV. • Flood advance : Those how are living in own Flats also getting free money • Free dress : Every one in that Area gets ( people using the cloths for cleaning the Cars) THE GOVT. HAS TO TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIUSLY AND HELP ONLY THE NEED PEOPLE.

| Yes,, some of the peoples do like this , not all, so simply blame all together, I think its not correct..our C.M. got a 65 years experience ,,and did his jobs to the poor exactly reasonable ,,may be there are some blacks ,, that should be avoidable,and forgettable ,,, what he did a great mistake is opened the bars,, but he wants money to impediments the benefits,, how?so let it be his wrongs are negligible,, his idea is,, people money to the peoples , took from bars and give to frees,,whats wrong?

| அய்யா வணக்கம்... இந்த திட்டத்தினால் பதிக்கபட்டவனில் நானும் ஒருவன்... எங்கள் கிராமத்தில் உள்ள தொழிலாளி மாதத்தில் மூன்று நாட்கள் மட்டுமே வேலை செய்கிறான், வேலை இருக்கு வாருங்கள் என்று கேட்டல், நான் என் வரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்குறர்கள், அதக்கு விளக்கம் வேறு, ஒரு நாள் வேலைக்கு போனால் ஒரு மாதம் முழுவதும் இலவச திட்டத்தினால் சாப்பிடலாம். நான் என் வேலைக்கு வரவேண்டும் என்று கேக்குறான், இப்படி போனால் நமது நாடு என்ன ஆகும்...நான் இப்போது சிங்கப்பூர் இல் வேலை செய்கிறேன் இங்கு உள்ள அரசு அப்படி இல்லை, வேலைக்கு சென்றால் சாப்பாடு என்று உள்ளது. அப்படி இருந்தால் நமது நாடு கண்டிப்பாக முதல் இடம் வரும் என்பதில் சந்தேகம் இல்லை...

For GOD sake tell them to ahead with a survey about domestic productivity before and after these schemes, obviously we can see fall of graph!

| I rank this article as one of the best amongst all other articles that I had read in Dinamalar in the past. This article clearly specifies and highlights the acute statistical data in reference to the income obtained by the villagers by reason of the free schemes and its ill effects on the rural workmanship and on the whole, how it breaks the backbone of the Indian economy. I myself have witnessed the dacoity committed in the name of rural employment guarantee scheme, under which the villagers simply do nothing, but receive the wages under the scheme. Therefore the final end product of the amount funded in the scheme is a BIG ZERO and as a bonanza it makes the rural population to lazy creeps. Especially in Tamil Nadu the ruling party is using this tendancy of the rural population and feeding their laziness to gain popularity for their unscruplous governance. I respect the Dravidian principles of social justice which created reservations in education and employment for the communally downtrodden units. But this principle of free schemes will do nothing good for the rural people, because of the strong old principle that ''THERE IS NO ALTERNATE FOR HARD WORK''. I myself hail from farming background and we are the living witnesses to the act of the government which nullified the rural workforce and pushed the Agriculture sector to doldrums. If this tendancy of laziness of rural population and the encouragement of same by the state governmnet continues to another couple of years, then it is sure that we will fall to a grave danger of starvation. Here I want to mention a open secret that we need to produce food grains even for supplying it in rations for Re. 1, which our policy makers have never understood. So its my humble request to the government to immediately withdraw all the free schemes and commit the rural population to go back to their productive work which have kept the backbone of India strong and supportive for all these days. by A. | There is no different opinion. At the cost of tax payers the non-tax payers are benefitted without doing labour works. They need not earn for their children to study since they are being provided with midday meals, books and note books, cycle, free bus Pass, free education etc., The male member spend his money for ''Hot Drinks'', gambling, lottery ticket and other unlawful activities and becoming lazy since their is no committment to him. The growth of the nation in different fields is thus hampered due to this menance. This is to be stopped.
