Mr. Prime Ministor, This is Sathya from CHENNAI. Iam working with UK ship. Your way of thinking is very very good. Yes, We can use fisherman for sea investication. But now a days all are having latest mobile phone. You know onething mobile phone Towers can provide signal only 15-20 Kms only. If it rains the signal coverage will not good. The signal coverage works depends upon the climatic conditions. If you give them a mobile phone they will use it for their last son or daughter to play. Sorry for to said
In our ship we are not using mobile phone to communicate people. Even when we are in the port too. Because the signal is too week in the port. Here we are using RADIO VHF. It is like a walky talky. But it is may be costly. But we cannot provide this type of communication system to all of the fisherman.

SO MY SUGGETION IS WE CAN INSTALL POWERFUL LASER LIGHTS AND ALARM IN THEIR BOATS ARE SHIPS. IF THEY SEE ANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN THE SEA THEY CAN PLAY ALARM IN THE DAY TIME , LASER BEAM IN THE NIGHT TIME.
AT THE SAME TIME POLICE SHOULD BE IN THE DUTY ON THE SHORE. AT THE SAME TIME HELICOPTER SERVICE SHOULD BE ON THE DUTY.

My suggetion may be difficult but this is my solution for your decition. But it is good for to our India to be safe. Thank you. Jaihind.

Excellent Idea and on the same time.. GOVT should make a strict PROTOCAL for the National Security and it should not COMPROMISE on any manner (what ever reason or whoever it might be)

Excellent idea. Giving a vital piece of technology to the fishermen does certainly help the national security.

This idea could have certainly helped the fishermen to call in times when being shot by Sri Lankan and Pakisthani Navy.

For year's when fishermen were being shot by Sri Lankan army and the community had cried out loud enough to the government... they paid no heed to their cries. Because these people are poor people. Unwanted people. If one died there is always another one waiting to go out fishing and put the delicious sea food on our plates.

But the people killed in Mumbai are the upper class people. The elite ones who could afford to stay in luxary hotels. Influential ones. They cannot be killed. To prevent this, lets make use of the poor people as securities.

Had the government helped the fishermen with technological aid so that they don't wander beyond the borders, so many lives may have been saved.

Gone is gone, I still welcome this initiative. One request though, please heed and rush to support even when a fisherman using the same mobile phone calls out for help and protect them when they are being shot at.
