In the world of Tamil Dailies, Dinamalar occupies a
prominent place, thanks to the efforts of the founder,
Shri.T.V.Ramasubbiar.
Shri Ramasubbiar was born in a village near Nagercoil and
he was brought up in a totally different atmosphere. He
fought for the oppressed classes in the early 1930's. He
was called upon to fight for the rights of the oppressed
people and he was called in short as "T.V.R" by
the people.
In his quest for the rights of the people, he started the
Tamil daily, "DINAMALAR" in the year 1951. The
first issue of Dinamalar was released on September 6th
1951 by a man who gave a new dimension to Tamil
Literature, Prof. Vaiyapuripillai.
From that day, except for the initial protests from the
government,there was no turning back for Dinamalar. It
grew up to be the leading Tamil Daily reaching out to the
entire population of Tamil Nadu and even other States. |
