Connecticut : Indian Association of Western Connecticut in affiliation with City Center Danbury organised and celebrated it's 2nd Annual Jai Ho India (Independence Day) Festival on August 13 2011 at Danbury Green. CT. The festival was highlighted with children's activities, folk dances, musical performances, drama and classical dances from various Indian states. There were many area's Indian food, cloth, jewellery and craft vendors were displayed their products. A large number of Indian and American families with children were came to witness and enjoy the Indian culture and taste the varieties of Indian foods. People were came from New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts etc. It was a gorgeous day - it was cloudy but no rain so people were not tired to move around. It was a beautiful day of relaxation, lot of foods and cultural events for the hard working families. Wells Fargo bank offered rides on its iconic Stagecoach (horse wagon) for children and adults added to the festivities of Indian Independence day. At about 5.00 p.m Indian flag was raised with Indian national anthem and every one salute the flag. Festival was started at 11.00 a.m and ended at about 9 p.m with Bollywood concert showcased by Rex D'Souza. - Dinamalar Reader Ravi Chelladurai
