Hong Kong had a big cultural festival organised by the Hong Kong Government to bring all Asian ethnic cultures on stage. Hong Kong, Macao, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Phillipines, Laos, Singapore participated to showcase their culture to thousands of attendees at the Hong Kong Cultural Center Piazza near the Star Ferry.

Indian Space Scientist, Project head of Chandrayan 1 and Mangalyan, Padma Shri Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai did a presentation about Mangalyan, the evolution and outcome at Department of Physics, University of Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, Children Cultural Group celebrated the Birthday of people's President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Birthday with renowned Space Scientist of India Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai. He gave away the APJ Abdul Kalam Quiz Wiz Trophy to the winners of the CCG-CIBS Quiz contest.

Dayal Badminton Championships is held for past 10 years to bring the Indian talents in Badminton. During this 10th year, a new racquet design was launched. It was dedicated to Thiruvalluvar. The racquet is named as Kural racquet. Thirukural 'vellathanayadu malar neetam' is inscribed on the racquet in 6 different languages.

Tamil Cultural Association of Hong Kong organised a wonderful day out with Beach Kabbadi competition and picnic at Lower Cheung Sha Beach in Lantau Island.

Mr. Yogaraj CP, Yoga instructor and Director of Prana Yogam succeeded in his fourth record making attempt on 28th August. It was done in City University of Hong Kong Studence Residence Hall amidst more than 100 onlookers.

5th Youth Festival was organised by Children Cultural Group in Tung Chung Community Hall with cultural performances by children and adults.

As usual 69th Republic Day of India was celebrated at the Consulate General of India in Hong Kong and Macau on 26 January 2018. Consul General Puneet Agrawal unfurled the national flag and read the excerpts of President's message to the nation and addressed the gathering of Indian community.

From 13th January to 7th April, Radio Television Hong Kong is broadcasting the programme 'Holy Gita in Tamil' every Saturday from 8:30-9:00pm for 13 weeks. This is presented by Tamil residents living in Hong Kong.
