I visited the old falls last month Dinamalar article truly captures the scene the only way to thank nature is to preserve what it offers mankind. The facilities for tourists in terms of traffic, sign boards, tourist maps, vehicle parking, public toilets and so on is totally inadequate there and belong to 20th century the only fee charged is Rs. 50 for car parking in a muddy field () and no one checks if you use soap, shampoos or not the huge crowds visiting this town from nearby Kerala and Tirunelveli only benefit the food stall owners and hoteliers.

Crisis can opportunities. TN is already a very high user of nate Energy and the Govt has done the right thing in announcing a new Solar policy. If there is one thing that is abundant in TN, it is sunshine. Germany which has low solar incidence is a high user of solar energy per capita. Now technology has made it possible to power air crafts and cars too with solar energy, leave alone other things like water pumps and lights. in Sivaganga, they made a start with a huge MW size plant in 9 months. Many more are under construction. I hope that in future, TN may shine as an example of sustainable living.
