Curtain raiser held for National Tamil Science Conference 2026
chennai: a curtain raiser for the national tamil science conference (ntsc 2026), to be held from february 20 to 22, 2026, was organised at the csir-structural engineering research centre (csir-serc) in chennai on wednesday. the event marks the beginning of preparations for the major national-level science meet being jointly organised by arivial sangam, tamil nadu, and csir-serc.themed “sustainable development in science and technology”, the conference aims to promote science, technology and innovation through the tamil language while fostering dialogue between traditional knowledge and modern scientific thought.ntsc 2026 will serve as a unique platform for scientists, academicians, industrial leaders, policy makers, and students to deliberate on advancements across diverse disciplines including physical and chemical sciences, life sciences, mathematics, agriculture, medicine, engineering, earth and ocean sciences, and indian knowledge systems integration.the three-day event will feature plenary talks, memorial lectures, invited sessions, oral and poster presentations, and cultural programmes. eminent experts from csir laboratories, iits, isro, and leading universities are expected to participate and share their vision for a “viksit bharat through science”.at the curtain raiser, dr. s. parivallal, advisor (m), csir-serc, welcomed the participants. shri r. abga, south zone organising secretary of vijnana bharati (vibha), outlined the concept of the conference. introductions to ntsc 2026 were given by dr. b. chandrasekaran, arivial sangam tamil nadu and former director, csir-clri, and dr. s. chandrasekaran, arivial sangam tamil nadu (igcar).dr. n. anandavalli, director, csir-serc, released the official conference poster and launched the ntsc 2026 website. the vote of thanks was proposed by dr. v. parthasarathi, vice president, arivial sangam, tamil nadu.
