TNs medical sector has no vacancies now, says Minister Subramanian

chennai: tamil nadu has reached a stage where there are “no vacancies” in the medical sector, state health minister ma. subramanian said on sunday.speaking after distributing certificates and a subsidy of ₹50,000 to transpersons who completed a skill training programme organised by the chennai district social welfare department, the minister said the government was ready to support transpersons seeking to operate autorickshaws.“if transpersons in chennai want to buy autos with a subsidy of ₹1 lakh, they can approach us. we will also help them obtain a driving licence free of cost,” he said.on preparedness ahead of cyclone tidwa, subramanian said doctors in all government hospitals had been instructed to remain on full-time duty. special medical camps would be organised in fever-prone areas during the monsoon, and steps had been taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply in all hospitals, he said.responding to remarks from pmk leader anbumani ramadoss regarding delays in promotions for medical professors, the minister said the concerned file had been processed a month ago. “once the finance department gives its approval, the orders will be issued within a day or two. this is routine procedure. it is surprising that anbumani has issued a statement in the meantime,” he said.he added that the state had reached a point where there were no vacancies in the medical sector and that arrangements were in place to fill positions arising due to retirements.
