Tamil Ladies Association(TLA), Dubai, is a socio-cultural non-profit organization, affiliated to the ICWC, Dubai. The Association was started almost thirty-three years back (1974)by a small group of ladies, in a small way, and, has steadily grown to see many heights with a number of members. The main Objectives of the Association are to promote Indian culture and tradition, to get actively involved in the welfare of the society, to bring out the talents of the family members and children and to engage in philanthropic and charitable activities. The Association has always encouraged and motivated lady members and their children to participate in all the variety entertainment programmes which are organized regularly. A number of informative talk shows and lectures are also periodically held by the organization to bring awareness on topics such as health and career. TLA has also organized competitions for its members and their children such as Quiz competitions, Drawing competitions, Cookery competitions, Rangoli competitions and Dance and Music competitions. Children from the TLA have regularly participated in the events such as the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), Independence and Republic Day celebrations held at the Indian Consulate Auditorium.TLA, Dubai, has always been one of the foremost to extend its helping hand to the Indian Consulate officials during the time of Amnesty and to provide possible aid during national disasters like the Gujarat earthquake. Apart from this, blood donation camps and aid to several charities have also been organized by TLA.Those interested to join the Association may please contact any of the committee members.
