Shri. Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji’s visited Auckland

His Holiness Shri. Shri. Shri. Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji’s visited Auckland and stayed  here for a couple of weeks.   Swamiji is the 29th PONTIFF of Sri. Puttige Mutt, one of the Ashta Mathas of Udupi founded by Dvaita philosopher & Jagadguru Madhwaachaarya. Swamiji was initiated to Sanyasa at the young age of 13. He has shouldered the responsibilities of running the mutt from the tender age and has since spared no moment in propagating the teachings of Shri. Madhwaachaarya.

His Holiness is the first Madhwa Pontiff  visited countries across 5 continents with the sole mission of establishing the teachings of Shri. Madhwaachaarya. To add to the 23 branches in India He has established 10 temples and numerous centers of knowledge across the USA, Canada, UK and Ausralia. He has travelled far and wide and with his spiritual message and service to international community resonating well with many top world leaders and industrialists, Swamiji was designated twice in succession as an International President of the World Conference of Religion for Peace (WCRP) supported by the United Nations.

HH Swamiji was given poornakumbam reception at the airport on the arrival day.  Swamiji’s disciples also came with him to give daily service to him.  Most importantly, Swamiji has brought with Him the deities of Rukmini Sathyabhama Sametha Shri. Vithala, in a separate box  which were originally worshipped by Jagadguru Madhwaachaarya about 800 years ago.  It will be a rare and a special treat to watch Swamiji perform the Sansthana Puja and Thottilu Pooja.

During a meet with Swamiji, honorable ethnic minister Mr Michael Wood warmly welcomed Swamiji in Indian tradition. While addressing to the devotees in this event, Swamiji called the New Zealand country as 'Deva Bhoomi'. HH also added that New Zealand is bestowed by the unique miracles of Mother earth and nature. It is seen as one of God's special and prosperous countries. Today, due to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's special hardwork towards communal harmony, both of these countries share a very firm and friendly bond which is gradually increasing day by day. 

As a token of love, Shri Swamiji gifted a photo of 'Dharani Devi' which calmly depicted all the religions spreading the message of peace.  Swamiji conveyed the message - Vasudaiva Kutumbakam (i.e one world, one family) through this photo. Mr Michael Wood* thanked Swamiji for visiting New Zealand and bless the devotees. He also requested Swamiji to visit New Zealand again and again to strengthen the community here. Swamiji acknowledged it and blessed him for his future endeavours. 

Starting from Shri Shirdi Sai Samsthan Temple on 9th June 2018, Shri Swamiji conducted poojas in various places of devotees house.  Morning Swamiji did Sansthana Puja  for the idols which he brought with him by abhishekam, arthi and bhajan.  Evening he was conducting thottilu puja to the devotees places.  Aucklanders are really blessed to have the darshan of HH Sugendra Swamiji and the pujas he conducted.  Maha Prasad was prepared both the morning and evening specially by his disciples like udupi mutt food and offered to all the devotees. Sri.Umesh Prasad, Sri Balachandra Bhat,  Sri Venkatachalam and  the R A M S foundation joined together and  initiated to bring the Swamiji here and they done the event successfully. The  RAMS foundation President Shri Raghavan has honoured HH Swamiji a title namely ‘VISHWA VITTALA SARATHY’.

Final day Mr. Venkatachalam and Mr Umesh expressed the vote of thanks for Swamiji’s visit and the devotees.
