Youth Festival organised by Children Cultural Group in HongKong

As usual Youth Festival was celebrated with enthusiastic participants this year too.  The organisors Children Cultural Group, Hindu Swayam Sevak Sangh (HSS) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad were happy to see the great response to this event.

The event celebrated the birthday of Swami Vivekananda along with the Indian Republic Day and Chinese Lunar New Year of 2019.  More than 100 performers gave entertaining performances to the audience of more than 300. Indian dances of various forms, Bharathanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, bollywood, yoga, folk and fusion, you name it, it was performed on that day. Patriotic songs marked the start and the end of the event. Chinese dance was also part of the performance. Speech about Vivekananda by the Fancy Dress performer gave the true spirit of being Indian in Hong Kong.

The speciality of this year event is launch of a book and App.  Mr. Neelabh Kumar, member of Chldren Cultural Group published a book called Logitica, a book containing the method to tackle mathematical problems in a mindful way.  The book was released by Mr. BG Srinivas, the Executive Director and Group Managing Director of PCCW Limited (PCCW),  member of PCCW's Executive Committee, and Alternate Director of certain FWD group companies. Book is available on Amazon for purchase. CCG launched an App called Mr CCG to communicate with the members in a better way.


Twelve Competitions under 6 age categories from age of 2 to 70 was organised on 12th and 20th January at Hung Hom and Tung Chung attracted more than 60 participants.  The winners were awarded medals and certificates on Youth Festival day by Mr. BG Srinivas and Mrs. Poonam Mehta of 'Be the Change' organisation that help underprevileged children.


Mr. Goel, President of (HSS) introduced the services provided by HSS, Hong Kong.  Members of HSS, university students organised a wonderful quiz about Swami Vivekananda.

Performers, competition participants, attendees, organisors were very happy to have celebrated this event that helps our Indian children to know our culture.
