Early in 2017, a group of Tamil speaking friends got together at a beach side in the capital city of Mozambique, Maputo and formed an informal group in a bid to preserve and nurture our language, arts and cultural values for the future generation. A year later a non-profit organization in the name of 'Mozambique Tamil Sangam' (formerly known as Associação Mozambique Tamil Sangam) was born. It has no religious or political identity and is registered with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Mozambique.
Since then, we promote charitable events by raising funds, create awareness of our rich culture and history among our Tamil speaking community. We organize community get together around the festive seasons and provide platforms to exhibit inherent talents of all age groups and entertain the community at large.
