Chess School 'GO CHECKMATE' in Singapore has successfully conducted '5th Online Simultaneous Tournament' where players from Singapore, India and Dubai participated.
The tournament host was International Master(IM) BT Muralikrishnan. The IM hails from Madurai and has a highest rating of 2444. He is 2003 National Cities Champion and Under 25 National Champion. He is also 2019 All India Chess Grand Prix GKCA Champion.From more than 100 entries, 27 participants (a mix of both rated and unrated) were given an opportunity to play this free simultaneous with International Master.
The participants were an interesting group consisting of India's Youngest Rapid rated player Mithun Pranav, Singapore's Youngest Rated Player Haresh, Singapore Kickoff 2020 Champion Dhanesh, Eastern Asia Youth Blitz Team Chess Championship 2019 Bronze winner Vinesh among the few.
The tournament was conducted in LiChess Platform on June 13th 2020 from 10:00 AM Singapore Time. Time control for the players was 20 mins + 10 seconds increment and for the host it was 110 min + 10 seconds increment.
The players had an opportunity to get introduced to the International Master via Zoom Call 15 minutes before the tournament.
Mrs Vidhyavarshni (National Instructor), Mr. Praveen Kumar(FI) and Mr.Gunasekaran who organised the event congratulated Dhanesh Venkata Narayanaswamy for his win against the IM. Two other players Chadralekha and Lakshanaa drew against the IM.
