Sri Kanchi Maha Periyava 127th Jayanthi Celebrations at Wellington

Wellington : Sri Maha Periyava's 127th Jayanthi Mahotsavam was celebrated grandly on Saturday 11th July at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Wellington. The enthusiastic Sri Kanchi Periyava devotees of Anusham Wellington Group organised the Jayanthi celebrations. The celebrations started with Maha Ganapathi Homam at 9 a.m. followed by Navagraha Homam, Avahanti Homam, Mrutyunjaya & Dhanvanthri Homam for the well being of the world given the pandemic situation. More than a hundred and fifty devotees joined the celebrations and immersed with complete bliss witnessing all the Homams, listening to Veda Goshams and singing bhajans. Special abhishekams were performed to Shiva Lingam and Sri Sri Maha Periyava with Veda pandits chanting the Rudram and Chamakam. 

After the elaborated abishekam, the Kalasa threethams offered to Shiva Lingam & Periyava vigraham devotees chanting 'Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara' gosham. Maha Periyava's vigraham was decorated with garlands, flowers and Rudra Trisathi archana offered by pundits, along with Raja upacharam. Devotees carried Jagat Guru - Sri Sri Maha Periyava and Adi Sankara Bhagavatpadhal in a procession around the temple complex amidst enthusiastic chanting of Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara.

As a grand finale to the event Sri Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal (Bala Periyava) of Kanchi Matam appeared in an online video session to bless the occasion and the devotees. Periyava was given Poorna Kumbham and was given details the day's program.Periyava gave his anugraha bhashanam close to an hour talking about the supreme sacrifice of Sri Sri Maha Periyava for the uplift of Sanatana Dharma and revival of Vedam. Periyava spoke about Sri Sri Maha Periyava's yatras visiting many places in India. Sri Bala Periyava advised about the importance of education to our children about our dharma, culture and values. Periyava encouraged involving children in various festival activities, imparting knowledge of their family lineage (parampara) and kula deivam in their young minds. He also advised us to include some Children specific activities in the next Jayanthi celebration to involve them in the festivities. 

The children recited Thotakhastakam and Guru pathuka sthothram and received the blessings of Sri Bala Periyava. Periayava stayed to the end of these chants, accepted the Aarathi offered by the devotees and blessed us all.

As Wellington put up excellent weather, Devotees spiritual experience brightened the whole place; we could still hear the 'Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara' chants.
