Society functions as an interconnected system where collaboration across diverse fields is essential. Similarly, professionals today must develop skills and knowledge beyond their core disciplines to work effectively with others.
No engineer can operate in isolation. A mechanical engineer cannot rely solely on mechanical expertise, nor can a computer engineer succeed with only computer knowledge. While in-depth specialization is important, functional understanding of other fields is equally necessary.
Advances in automation and artificial intelligence are making life easier and reshaping how we work. Over time, these technologies will help reduce social barriers and inequalities. Although new opportunities and work methods will emerge, employment will not decline. Throughout human history, progress has continually transformed society, and future developments promise to make possibilities accessible to everyone.
Artificial Intelligence
Modern technologies increasingly replicate human functions. 'Artificial Intelligence' mimics the human brain's operations, while mechanical engineering draws from the functions of our hands and feet. Nature inspires every field of study. By observing and understanding nature, we create machines that learn and perform tasks humans have mastered—this is the essence of Artificial Intelligence.
At our institution, we aim to nurture well-rounded individuals. To achieve this, engineers must acquire knowledge across multiple disciplines. Therefore, we offer interdisciplinary training, ensuring students gain fundamental insights beyond their majors.
Agriculture education is integrated into all programs. First-year students are divided into groups and each is assigned a 5-cent plot of land to cultivate, promoting hands-on learning. Alongside this, students receive training in automobile basics, biology, motor functions, and electrical principles, applicable to all departments.
