Mumbai: Mumbai entrepreneur Senain Sawant recently shared a disturbing experience with a job candidate on LinkedIn, highlighting the challenges employers face.
As the founder of the start-up Grump, Sawant scheduled a Google Meet interview with a candidate for a social media executive role.
However, the candidate joined the call without a camera, citing an iOS update issue, and revealed they didn't own a computer, borrowing one from a previous employer.
Sawant requested to reschedule the interview when the candidate could use video, but the call ended abruptly. The candidate later expressed frustration over WhatsApp, stating they had a year's experience and were not seeking an internship.
The conversation took an unexpected turn when the candidate insulted Sawant, calling her a "bi**h," shocking her with their disrespectful tone.
The incident sparked widespread online support for Sawant, with many criticizing the entitled attitude of the younger generation.
Sawant, in her mid-20s, expressed disappointment over the lack of professionalism among candidates.
She emphasized Grump's commitment to a respectful work environment and viewed the incident as a learning experience, noting that some candidates treat jobs as temporary gigs rather than serious commitments.
