Chennai: The Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA) will organize a 'Dyslexia Awareness Walk' on 20th October 2024 at Besant Nagar Beach, Chennai, starting at 7 a.m.

This event is part of the global Dyslexia Awareness Month observed every October.

MDA, a non-profit founded by parents of children with dyslexia, aims to raise awareness about the condition through this walk, supported by GOLD Parent Support Group, Rotary Club of Madras East, and Rotary Club of Besant Nagar. Other activities include competitions like 'Art from Waste,' storytelling, and music.

Founded in 1992 by Mr. D. Chandrasekhar, a Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Madras, MDA provides assessments, remedial teaching, and training for teachers.

Mr. Chandrasekhar encourages Chennai residents to participate, emphasizing the importance of building a dyslexia-sensitive society where children with dyslexia receive proper support through multi-sensory learning methods.

Final performance will be held on 16th October 2024 at Obul Reddy Hall, Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha - Vani Mahal), 17th and 18th October 2024 at TAG Hall, Sri RKM Boys High School, Dhandapani Street, T.Nagar.
