Chennai: To ensure transparent, smooth, and fair conduct of examinations administered by the National Examinations Agency, the Department of Higher Education under the Union Ministry of Education has formed a High-Level Expert Committee.

This committee is tasked with providing recommendations on several key areas.

Objectives and Scope of Work
The committee's primary objectives are to recommend reforms in examination procedures and enhancements in data protection protocols. These reforms aim to improve the efficiency and integrity of the examination process, while ensuring robust data protection measures are in place.

Reforms in Examination Procedure
The committee will analyze the current examination process and recommend measures to improve system efficiency and prevent potential violations. This includes conducting a thorough review of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols of the National Examination Agency, and suggesting enhancements to monitoring procedures to ensure comprehensive compliance at every level.

Enhancement of Data Protection Protocols
The committee will assess the existing data protection practices and protocols, recommending improvements where necessary. It will also examine current security protocols related to question paper preparation and other examination procedures, suggesting measures to bolster the system's robustness and ensure the security of examination materials.

Organization and Functioning of the National Examinations Agency
The committee will make recommendations on the organizational structure and functioning of the National Examination Agency. This includes implementing the reforms suggested in the previous points and clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of officers at each level. Additionally, the committee will evaluate the existing grievance redressal system, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations to enhance its effectiveness.

Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO and chairman of IIT Kanpur Board of Trustees

Members:

Dr. Randeep Guleria, Former Director, AIIMS, Delhi
Professor B.J. Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Hyderabad
Prof. K. Ramamurthy, Ex-Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Chennai
Mr. Pankaj Bansal, People Strong Co-Organizer, Karmayogi Bharat Board Member
Prof. Aditya Mittal, Dean of Student Welfare, IIT Delhi
Mr. Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Education

The committee is expected to submit its report to the Ministry within two months from the date of this order.

Additionally, the committee is authorized to appoint any field expert to assist in its tasks.
