Chennai: Marking three decades of excellence, NIFT Chennai and Dignity Foundation jointly hosted an Inclusive Fashion Show as part of Fashion Spectrum 2025.

The event celebrated diversity and inclusivity, with senior models aged 60-80 taking center stage in vibrant ensembles inspired by global carnival themes.

Dignity Foundation, established in 1995, has been a pioneer in senior citizen welfare, addressing loneliness and ensuring dignified ageing through its initiatives. Operating across major cities, including Chennai, its programs encompass Day Care Centres, Dementia Care Centres, and skill-based activities promoting social engagement and well-being.

The Chennai Chapter, celebrating its 30th anniversary, has been recognized as the Best Chapter for four consecutive years and has recently expanded outreach to slum communities in Mannady.

NIFT Chennai meticulously curated the fashion show, emphasizing the power of design in fostering inclusion and intergenerational bonding.

Senior participants, calling themselves “Juniors at Heart,” walked the runway with confidence, challenging age norms in fashion.

The show was coordinated by Dr. Geetha Ranjini, Mr. Sridhar Amanchy, and Ms. Pratheepa Raj, with NIFT students styling the models.

The event reinforced NIFT Chennai's commitment to inclusive fashion and the transformative role of design in social empowerment.
