Chennai: The UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for Young Scientists is now open for applications, offering a prestigious recognition to outstanding young scientists under 40 who are driving innovation in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Established by UNESCO in partnership with the Al Fozan Foundation, this biennial prize aims to foster scientific research, education, and international cooperation, promoting socio-economic development on a global scale.
The award highlights promising contributions in STEM fields and includes a prize of USD 50,000 for each recipient, along with a medal and certificate.
Eligible scientists from regions including Africa, the Arab States, Europe, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, and the Pacific are invited to apply.
The prize recognizes young innovators who are addressing key global challenges, with the goal of supporting their continued contributions to science and the global economy.
Interested candidates must first apply through the Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO by February 15, 2025, and subsequently submit their applications through the official website, https://apply.unescoalfozanprize.org/login, by April 15, 2025.
The selection process will be led by a jury of five internationally recognized STEM experts who will evaluate candidates based on merit.
