Salem: In association with United Nations Children's Fund and Sarva Shikasha Abhiyan, British council is conducting a five-day training programme for selected primary school teachers, teacher educators and lecturers.
The objective was to create conducive environment in primary schools for English language learning. The British Council selected a total of 80 teachers, teacher educators and lecturers from six districts - Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri and Salem - based on their skills for this training, education officials said.
A rigorous training on various methods of language teaching and the use of learning cards to teach English language under the Activity Based Learning method would be provided to the participants.
The programme commenced at Jairam College of Arts and Science here on Tuesday.
