New Delhi: The 6th GPAI Ministerial Council meeting took place on July 3, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Chaired by Shri Jitin Prasada, the meeting featured addresses from Japanese Vice Minister Hiroshi Yoshida and Serbian Minister Jelena Begovic.

Representatives from OECD and UNESCO also attended.

Key Points of Future Vision:
Transformative AI Potential: Recognizing AI's role in societal and economic progress.
AI Risks: Acknowledging challenges like safety, security, bias, transparency, and digital divides.
Trustworthy AI: Commitment to human-centric, inclusive, multi-stakeholder AI development.
OECD and UNESCO Recommendations: Reaffirming alignment with these guidelines.
GPAI's Unique Role: Strengthening GPAI as a global cooperation initiative.
Inclusive Membership: Focusing on diverse, global participation.
Support from OECD: Continuing collaboration for safe and trustworthy AI.
Integrated Partnership: Merging GPAI and OECD efforts for a unified approach.
International Cooperation: Encouraging global collaboration on AI initiatives.
Inclusive Governance: Ensuring equal participation in decision-making.
Conclusion:

India's leadership in AI was highlighted, with a commitment to ethical and inclusive AI development.

Serbia was elected as the Lead Chair for 2024-25, with a GPAI Summit planned in Serbia later this year.
