Organised by the Department of Bio-Sciences, the conference received 154 research papers, highlighting growing global focus on environmental protection, sustainable development and healthy lifestyles, according to an official statement.

Haryana Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh attended the inaugural session as chief guest, while Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Kaushik presided over the event.

Praising the initiative, Singh described the “plastic-free” conference—conducted using digital media—as an inspiring example. He emphasised that research and innovation must benefit society and encouraged students to contribute actively to environmental protection.

Kaushik said the event adopted eco-friendly practices such as digital banners, posters and e-proceedings to minimise resource use and reduce pollution.

Among other speakers, Amit Arya stressed the importance of youth participation in building a sustainable future, while S K Gakhar called for development that respects nature.
