Chennai: Indian Institute of Technology Madras has launched a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics, a web-enabled programme aimed at equipping industry professionals with advanced skills in data analytics, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

The programme, offered by the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, seeks to address the rising demand for professionals capable of applying analytics and AI to improve manufacturing operations, productivity and strategic decision-making.

The first batch is scheduled to commence on September 7, 2026, while the last date for applications is May 31.

The curriculum spans three academic terms over a year and carries 90 credits, covering areas such as machine learning, deep learning, generative AI and digital transformation, along with hands-on courses in manufacturing analytics implementation.

The programme is open to graduates with three- or four-year undergraduate degrees in relevant disciplines, including B.Sc Computer Science and Computer Applications, subject to admission criteria. It is targeted primarily at working professionals in large and medium-scale manufacturing organisations.
