New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday conferred degrees on graduating students at the Convocation 2025 of the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre here.

About 500 students from eight FDDI campuses across the country took part in the convocation ceremony. From the FDDI Chennai campus, 44 students received their degrees from the President.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada and FDDI Managing Director Vivek Sharma were also present on the occasion.

FDDI, an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, plays a key role in developing skilled manpower for India's footwear, fashion and design sectors.

The convocation highlighted the institute's commitment to academic excellence, innovation and leadership in the design and manufacturing ecosystem, officials said.
