Chennai: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Chennai, has invited applications from private candidates for the Diploma in Elementary Education Examination (DEEE) scheduled to be held in May/June 2026.
Candidates seeking to appear for the examination have been asked to download the application form from the official website and submit it through the District Institutes of Teacher Education and Training (DIETs) in their respective districts.
Applicants must submit filled-in forms along with copies of mark certificates of previous attempts, if any.
The DGE said applications would be processed at DIET centres equipped with web cameras, where candidates' photographs will be uploaded and fees collected.
The examination fee has been fixed at Rs 50 for each subject, while mark list for first and second years will cost Rs 100 each. Additionally, a registration and service fee of Rs 15 and an online registration fee of Rs 70 will be charged.
The last date for submission of applications is April 3, 2026, excluding Sundays, with the process commencing on March 26 (afternoon).
Candidates who miss the deadline can apply under the Tatkal scheme on April 6 and 7 by paying an additional fee of Rs 1,000.
The DGE cautioned that applications of ineligible candidates or those sent by post would be rejected.
