New Delhi: The Ministry of Defence has opened the online portal for the fourth round of registration of new Sainik Schools under the partnership mode, officials said on Thursday.

According to the Ministry, the portal — https://sainikschoolsociety.in — will remain open from May 15 to June 14, 2025, for eligible and interested schools, trusts, NGOs, and private organizations to apply.

The initiative is part of the Centre's plan to establish 100 new Sainik Schools in collaboration with State Governments, NGOs, and the private sector.

“The vision behind this move is not only to provide quality education aligned with the National Education Policy and create better career opportunities, including entry into the Armed Forces, but also to promote nation-building through wider participation,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement.

So far, 86 schools have been approved under this model by the Ministry of Defence, the statement added.

These new institutions will be affiliated with their respective education boards and operate under the Sainik Schools Society.

They will adhere to the rules prescribed for the partnership mode and integrate an “Academic-Plus” curriculum based on the traditional Sainik School pattern, the Ministry said.
