Chennai: The III World Ocean Science Congress in Chennai concluded on a high note after three days of insightful talks and discussions. Keynote speeches by Professor K. Murali and Professor Sachin Chathurvedi set the tone for discussions on topics like navigational aspects of the Hoogly Estuary and sustainable utilization of oceans for the blue economy. The event featured a panel discussion with prominent figures, including Dr. L. Murugan, highlighting achievements and future actions in the blue economy. Dr. Murugan emphasized sustainable practices like fisheries and minerals and highlighted government initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. The conference, themed "Sustainable Utilization of Oceans in Blue Economy," attracted 1,836 students and professionals and concluded with expressions of gratitude and the National Anthem.
