Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin handed over government job appointment orders to four sportspersons — three women and one man — in recognition of their achievements at international sporting events.

Chess player R. Vaishali, who won silver at the 19th Asian Games in China, has been appointed as a Junior Officer in the Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation. Indian footballer Sumitra, a gold medallist at the 13th South Asian Games in Nepal, has been given the post of Accountant in the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation.

Basketball player Sathya, who clinched gold at the South Asian Games in Nepal, has been appointed in the Marketing Administration Department of Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation. Sailor Chitresh Dutta, who represented India in the 19th Asian Sailing Championship in China, has been recruited as an Assistant Officer in SIPCOT.

The Chief Minister presented the appointment orders to all four sportspersons, commending their contribution to bringing glory to the state and the nation.
