Prabhakaran Installed as the 47th President of the Rotary Club of Trincomalee
The Installation Ceremony of Rotarian K. Prabhakaran as the 47th President of the Rotary Club of Trincomalee was held on Sunday, 10 August 2025, at the Rotary Office on Dyke Road.
The event was graced by Past District Governor RRFC PDG Gawri Rajan as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Naveen Kumar, Senior Vice President of Lanka IOC, as the Special Guest. The occasion was also attended by Rotarians from Trincomalee and Kilinochchi, school principals, teachers, Rotaractors, Interactors, Anns of Rotarians, and friends of the club.
Immediate Past President (IPP) Rtn. S. Jagatheeswaran delivered the welcome address, reflecting on the successful term of 2024-2025 and expressing his gratitude to the committee members for their dedicated support. Immediate Past Secretary Rtn. Ravichandran followed with a brief report highlighting the club's key projects and achievements during the past year.
As part of the evening's service initiatives, the club donated table tennis equipment to St. Joseph's College, Trincomalee, and presented bicycles to 15 deserving students.
IPP Rtn. S. Jagatheeswaran congratulated the newly elected President, Rtn. K. Prabhakaran, wishing him success in leading the club forward. In her address, Chief Guest PDG Gawri Rajan commended the Rotary Club of Trincomalee for its outstanding service to underprivileged communities and pledged her support in addressing urgent needs within the region.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by President-Elect Rtn. K. Arulvaratharajaah, marking the beginning of a new and promising Rotary year under President Prabhakaran's leadership.
