The National Overseas Scholarship (NOS) scheme aims to empower economically disadvantaged students from marginalized communities by facilitating higher education in reputed foreign universities, contributing to their economic and social advancement.

1. Courses Offered:
The scholarship supports postgraduate and doctoral studies (Master's and Ph.D.) in international institutions.
2. Admission Requirements:
Candidates must secure admission to recognized foreign universities on their own. The admission confirmation must be submitted to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to validate the scholarship.
3. Eligibility Criteria:
Open to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Traditional Artisans, and Landless Agricultural Laborers.
A minimum of 60% marks is required in:
Undergraduate degree for Master's program applicants.
Postgraduate degree for Ph.D. program applicants.
4. Scholarship Coverage:
Full tuition fees up to US$15,400 or £9,900 annually.
Additional benefits include visa fees, equipment costs, and airfare.
5. Duration of Support:
Up to 3 years for Master's programs.
Up to 4 years for Ph.D. programs.
6. Total Scholarships Available:
A total of 125 scholarships are awarded annually.
