StartupTN, an initiative of the Tamil Nadu government, has rolled out the Tamil Nadu Space Technology Fund (TN Space Tech Fund) to extend equity funding support to space technology startups based in Tamil Nadu.

Firms intending to avail themselves of this scheme should have already mobilised funding from third-party venture capital and angel investors. Additionally, they must be recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Enterprises satisfying these requirements will receive equity funding up to a maximum of Rs. 50 lakhs. Companies working in space technology fields such as rocket technology, satellite manufacturing, earth observation solutions, artificial intelligence, and robotics are eligible to apply.

Although the government has earmarked Rs. 10 crore for this scheme in the current financial year, awareness about it remains limited. Hence, StartupTN organised an online awareness programme on the Tamil Nadu Space Technology Fund.
