A recent study shows that 78 percent of rural parents want their daughters to have at least a degree.Based on a survey of 6,229 rural households in 20 states in India, a report titled 'Status of Primary Education in Rural India-2023' was released recently. The study said that 82 percent of parents of boys and 78 percent of parents of girls want their children to study up to graduation and above. The large number of students drop out of primary education was due to non-availability of high schools in the village or surrounding villages.
