Natham: The Abdul Kalam Social Welfare Trust, in collaboration with HIL Education Trust, is dedicated to increasing greenery by planting saplings, palm seeds, and medicinal herbs across various locations, while raising awareness about environmental conservation and the dangers of plastic use.
To nurture students' scientific curiosity, the foundation organizes science exhibitions, recognizing and rewarding young talents for their inventive projects.
Their initiatives extend to nature conservation, educational enhancement, youth and women empowerment, and mentorship programs. Through these services, the Trust supports skill development, self-employment training, and community upliftment.
Their programs reach diverse areas, including Natham Gopalpatti, Reddiarshatram, Madurai, Ayyalur, Chinnalapatti, Gandhigram, Kujiliamparai, Chanarpatti, Kondan Chettipatti, Raman Chettipatti, and Velampatti.
In seven years of social work, the Trust has seen youth drive positive change, nurturing a generation committed to national development through environmental and educational initiatives.
Maruthaikalam, Administrator of the Abdul Kalam Social Welfare Trust in Chanarpatti, expressed satisfaction with their impactful work: “Engaging in social service brings fulfillment. To counteract the harmful effects of artificial and chemical use, we promote organic farming, pollution reduction, and green planting for sustainable growth and clean water resources.”
Mahendra Prabhu, Founder of HIL Education Trust, highlighted the organization's focus on environmental outreach, including tree planting drives, environmental festivals, free evening classes for students, and initiatives to fulfill Kalam's vision of making every home a center of knowledge. They actively promote plastic elimination, sustainable agriculture, and awareness activities aimed at fostering eco-friendly villages across the district.
