Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has opened applications for the AJD Jansingh Award for Excellence in Wildlife Conservation, with a deadline of November 30.
Announcement said, " The award honors the legacy of AJD Jansingh, a pioneering forest biology researcher from Nanguneri, Tirunelveli district. Jansingh was deeply committed to wildlife study from a young age and made significant contributions to conservation as a researcher and professor at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. His scientific methods in wildlife conservation are considered foundational in the field.
In tribute to his life's work, the award recognizes outstanding achievements in wildlife conservation. The recipient will receive a cash prize of ₹25 lakh and a certificate of honor.
Interested candidates may apply online at www.forests.tn.gov.in by November 30.
Applications should include details of fieldwork, expertise, conservation achievements, and supporting certificates, addressed to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Forest Department Headquarters, Guindy - Velachery Main Road, Chennai - 600 032", it said.
