Chennai: The 48th Chennai Book Fair, hosted by the South Indian Booksellers and Publishers Association (BAPASI), is currently underway at the YMCA Grounds, Nandanam.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai visited the fair yesterday, spending over two and a half hours exploring more than 200 stalls.

He stopped by the Tamarai Brothers publishing house, where he interacted with readers and purchased several books, including Khalaru Pathikam, Selvatharum Allitatharum Siddhar Darshanam, Thawhi Mata Ivara, and Rathathin Rathamea.

Annamalai also participated in a book acquisition event featuring author Ramthangam, who secured the publishing rights to Selvatharum Allitatharum Siddhar Darshanam by Muthalangurichi Kamarasu, facilitated by Kadayam Senpakaraman.

During his visit, Annamalai took time to engage with school students, who eagerly took selfies with him. He also signed books for enthusiastic readers.

Speaking to reporters, Annamalai highlighted the importance of reading, “Books are essential for life. Parents should instill the habit of reading in their children and bring them to events like this book fair.”

The Chennai Book Fair continues to attract bibliophiles from across the region, offering a wide array of literary treasures.
