Chennai: Chief Minister Stalin has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of teacher Ramani, who was tragically murdered at the Mallipattanam Government Higher Secondary School in Thanjavur.
In a statement, Chief Minister Stalin expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, stating, "I am deeply saddened to hear about the brutal murder of teacher Ramani, who was stabbed by Madankumar at the Government Higher Secondary School in Mallipattanam, Thanjavur. The accused has been arrested, and a case has been registered against him. Rest assured, he will face justice."
The Chief Minister extended his condolences to Ramani's family, colleagues, and students, adding, "I offer my heartfelt sympathy to her family, relatives, and all who are grieving. I have ordered a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh from the Chief Minister's General Relief Fund for her family."
In a related development, Minister Mahesh visited the Mallipattanam Government Higher Secondary School to assess the situation. He announced that the school would remain closed for a week, with reopening contingent on counseling being provided to staff and students.
