Chennai: The SSLC results in Tamil Nadu have been unveiled, showcasing an impressive overall pass rate of 91.55%.
Out of the 8,94,264 students who appeared for the exams, a staggering 8,18,743 successfully cleared them.
Breaking down the numbers further, girls outshined boys yet again, with 94.53% of them passing compared to 88.58% of boys. This marked a significant 5.95% lead for girls over boys.
Notably, 1364 government schools achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate, contributing to the state's overall success. The exams, conducted from March 26 to April 8, 2024, witnessed a slight increase in pass percentage compared to the previous year.
Subject-wise performance was equally commendable, with 96.85% passing in Tamil, 99.15% in English, 96.78% in Maths, 96.72% in Science, and 95.74% in Social Science. Notably, a total of 415 students secured a perfect score in English.
Regionally, Ariyalur district topped the charts with an outstanding pass percentage of 97.31%, while Vellore trailed with 82.07%. Puducherry boasted a commendable 91.28% pass rate, while Karaikkal reported 78.20%.
Analyzing performance by school management, private institutions led with a 97.43% pass rate, followed by aided schools with 91.77%, and government schools with 87.90%.
