Coimbatore: Dinamalar Daily, in collaboration with PSGR Krishnammal Women's College, hosted an awareness seminar on women's safety, mental health, health, the environment, and the economy at the Krishnammal College Hall yesterday.
The event was inaugurated by Coimbatore Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, ROOTS Director Kavithasan, Krishnammal College Secretary Yashoda Devi, and Dinamalar News Editor Vijayakumar by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Dinamalar Sales Division Manager Ayyappan and others were also present.
Empowering Women and Students
Police Commissioner Balakrishnan commended Dinamalar for celebrating Women's Day at a women's college on Bharatiyar's birthday, recognizing Bharati's contributions to women's education and empowerment. Highlighting initiatives like the "Police Akka Project," which has resolved over 700 student issues, he emphasized intellectual growth alongside physical safety, urging students to cultivate reading habits beyond textbooks.
Poet Kavithasan inspired attendees, stating, “The idea that 'I can' is the first victory.” He stressed the importance of confidence, education, and purpose, urging students to explore classics like Athichudi and Thirukkural for guidance.
Dinamalar's Educational Initiatives
News Editor Vijayakumar highlighted Dinamalar's ongoing commitment to education through programs like "Arichuvadi" and quiz competitions, providing guidance for students year-round.
