Ahmedabad: CEPT University, in collaboration with Getty and INTACH, inaugurated a week-long training program, Modern Architecture Conservation in India - 2025, with expert lectures and a panel discussion on February 16 at its campus. The program aims to highlight the significance of modern architecture and equip participants with conservation skills.
Prof. Barjor Mehta, President, CEPT University, delivered the inaugural address. Talks were given by Susan Macdonald (Getty Conservation Institute), Kartikeya Sarabhai (CEE), and Miki Desai (Former CEPT Professor), followed by a panel discussion moderated by Kiran Joshi (ICOMOS). Discussions focused on India's modernist heritage, conservation challenges, and future strategies.
Dr. Parul Munjal (INTACH Heritage Academy) emphasized Ahmedabad's rich architectural legacy, while Prof. Jigna Desai (CEPT University) highlighted its significance in India's modernist discourse. The event brought together students, faculty, and conservation professionals to promote knowledge exchange on preserving modern architecture.
