Chennai: In an unexpected move, the School Education Department has announced a holiday for all government schools today. The decision comes after recent changes to the school schedule, which reduced the number of working days by 10.

The Director of School Education has issued an official order to implement the holiday across all government schools. This change aligns with adjustments made to the academic calendar.

In the meantime, as TNPSC Group 2 and 2A exams are being held today, headmasters of schools serving as examination centers have been directed to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams by making the necessary arrangements.
