Chennai: IIT Madras is set to host the 51st edition of Saarang, its flagship cultural festival, from January 9 to 13, 2025. With an anticipated turnout of 80,000 attendees, this student-led fest celebrates South India's vibrant cultural heritage with the theme "Frames and Fables," highlighting storytelling and visual arts.

New initiatives include a multicultural folk parade, Tamil Nadu folk arts workshops, and the "Empower" campaign to support differently-abled individuals through art and culture.
Key highlights include professional shows like a Grammy-winning classical night by flutist Shashank Subranyam, an EDM night headlined by Ritviz, and performances by Amit Trivedi and Antariksh. The World Fest will showcase international artists, including a Japanese orchestra and an Italian progressive metal band.
