New Delhi: India will observe its inaugural 'National Space Day' on August 23, 2024, in honor of Chandrayaan-3's historic lunar landing in 2023.
This mission made India the first nation to reach the Moon's south pole and the fourth country to achieve a successful lunar landing, marking a significant moment in India's space journey.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared August 23 as 'National Space Day' to commemorate this milestone.
The 2024 celebrations will include a month-long series of events across the country, celebrating the theme, "Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India's Space Story."
This theme highlights how India's space achievements are not just scientific breakthroughs but also directly benefit everyday life through technological innovations.

'Bharathiya Antariksh Hackathon': A national competition encouraging innovative space tech ideas, with top students earning ISRO internships.
'ISRO Robotics Challenge': A competition for students to build space robots, fostering interest in space robotics.
The day aims to inspire future generations, promote public understanding of space exploration, and celebrate India's scientific achievements.
