Chennai: CSIR-SERC and CMC in Chennai celebrated National Technology Day on May 15, 2024.
Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC and Coordinating Director of CMC, presided over the event, with Dr. Chandrika Kaushik from DRDO as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Anandavalli explained the significance of the day, marking India's technological achievements since 1999, including the POKHRAN nuclear tests, the first flight of the HANSA lightweight aircraft, and the development of the surface-to-air missile TRISHUL.
This year's theme focused on promoting clean and green technologies for a sustainable future, showcasing CSIR-SERC's contributions in this field.
Dr. Chandrika Kaushik delivered a lecture on "Structures: From Engineering Marvels to Exploratory Science," emphasizing the need for collaboration within the scientific community to tackle tough engineering challenges and create sustainable solutions for society.
Dr. G.S. Palani concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
