Lucknow: The National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, inaugurated its new Extension Centre in Lucknow on December 18, 2024.

The facility, located in the SCVT building, Aliganj, was opened by the Director General of Training (DGT) and attended by key dignitaries, including the Deputy Director General, Regional Director (UP), state officials, and NIMI's Executive Director.

This center aims to expand NIMI's reach in the northern region, delivering instructional materials and digital content to enhance vocational education. It will support specialized training aligned with industry standards and the government's vision of skilling and upskilling the workforce.

NIMI has played a pivotal role in creating instructional media, e-content, and training resources for vocational education. The Lucknow center will house a dedicated Hindi cell, facilitating the translation of materials into Hindi and other regional languages.

This initiative will enable language experts to contribute to NIMI's mandate of promoting accessibility and inclusivity in skill development.

The new center underscores NIMI's commitment to building a skilled workforce capable of meeting domestic and international demands. This marks a significant step in strengthening India's vocational training ecosystem and broadening NIMI's outreach.
