Puducherry: The Department of Chemistry at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Puducherry is conducting a national workshop titled "Decoding Chemistry Horizons" from September 30 to October 4, 2024.

The event aims to inspire aspiring chemists, particularly students from rural areas around Karaikal, to pursue higher studies in Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

The workshop, inaugurated by Dr. R. Karvembu, Professor at NIT Trichy, alongside NIT Puducherry Director Dr. Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar and other dignitaries, covers key topics such as CSIR, GATE, JAM, soft-skill development, and future opportunities in chemistry.

During his address, Dr. Karvembu emphasized the significance of NIT Puducherry's infrastructure and encouraged rural students to seize this opportunity for their academic and professional growth. He also expressed gratitude to the Director and the Department of Chemistry for organizing the event.

A total of 60 students from Puducherry, Karaikal, Mayiladuthurai, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, and Thiruvarur participated in the workshop, which was attended by faculty, staff, and students from various departments at NIT Puducherry.
