Chennai: NIT Trichy hosted the inaugural All-NIT Training and Placement (T&P) Conclave on June 28, 2024, bringing together participants from NITs across India.

This event aimed to standardize and strengthen mutual relationships among NITs.

Representatives from NITs nationwide attended, from Arunachal Pradesh to Surat and Srinagar to Puducherry.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Makarand Madhav Ghangrekar, Director of NIT Puducherry, who emphasized the need for academia to swiftly incorporate Artificial Intelligence and embrace multidisciplinary.

Prof. G Aghila, Director of NIT Trichy, highlighted the importance of collective efforts to leverage the strengths of the NIT system. She stressed the necessity for automation in training and placement functions to better analyze data and trends, and the need to support students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD).

Discussions addressed critical placement issues such as assessment processes, diversity, equity, and inclusivity, and the pressures of high placement salaries. It was recommended that post-pandemic, physical assessments be reinstated to help students regain social skills.

The conclave also emphasized the need for recruiters to accommodate the special requirements of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and SLD students.

The conclave facilitated the exchange of best practices among NITs, promoting mutual benefit and synergy.
