New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a Post-Budget Webinar on employment and economic growth via video conferencing on Tuesday, emphasizing investments in people, economy, and innovation as the foundation for Viksit Bharat.

He underscored that the Union Budget reflects this vision by prioritizing infrastructure, industry, education, healthcare, and technological advancements. Stressing talent development, he called for greater investment in capacity building, stating that education, skills, and healthcare are the three pillars of workforce empowerment.

Highlighting reforms in education, PM Modi pointed to the National Education Policy, expansion of IITs, AI integration, and digital learning in 22 Indian languages. He noted that over 3 crore youth have received skill training since 2014, with 1,000 ITIs upgraded and five Centers of Excellence established. The PM-Internship Scheme, he added, will enhance industry exposure for youth.

On healthcare, he announced 10,000 new medical seats in this year's budget, with a target of 75,000 seats over five years. He emphasized telemedicine, daycare cancer centers, and digital health infrastructure to improve accessibility and employment in the sector.

Discussing urbanization, he revealed a Rs 1 lakh crore Urban Challenge Fund to modernize governance and infrastructure while encouraging private investment. He also highlighted the tourism sector's potential to contribute 10% to GDP, with plans to develop 50 key destinations and boost domestic and international tourism.

PM Modi reiterated India's leadership in AI, announcing a Rs 500 crore allocation for AI research and a National Large Language Model. He also emphasized the Rs 1 lakh crore corpus fund for startups and deep tech research.

Citing India's 66% economic growth over the past decade, he reaffirmed the goal of a $5 trillion economy, urging collaborative implementation of budget initiatives to drive national progress.
