Puducherry: Following the controversy surrounding the NEET entrance exam question paper leak, confusion and concern have arisen among students and parents due to rumors that the first-year MBBS exam question paper at Puducherry University (PU) has also been leaked.

PU oversees four private medical colleges in addition to its government medical college. The 830 first-year MBBS students were initially scheduled to take their exams starting today, the 5th, with hall tickets to be distributed from the 2nd.

However, the university suddenly announced the cancellation and postponement of the exams, leaving medical students shocked.

While the university cited administrative reasons for the postponement, speculation among parents and students has been rife. Social media is abuzz with claims that the MBBS exam was canceled due to a question paper leak.

Narayanasamy, President of the Students' Parents' Association, stated that the university had confirmed the admission of first-year MBBS students in affiliated colleges but had not yet approved them to take the exam. This has fueled rumors about the postponement. Additionally, there are concerns that the delay in sanctioning the remaining 100 seats at a private medical college, which currently only has 150 seats approved by the university, may have contributed to the decision.

Amid these allegations, various sources have suggested that the exam's postponement could be linked to the question paper leak. The university's handling of the situation has raised numerous doubts and questions.

To dispel the confusion, Puducherry University needs to provide a clear explanation for the sudden cancellation of the first-year MBBS exam.
