Chennai: Schools and colleges in several districts of Tamil Nadu are closed today (Dec 2) due to heavy rains caused by cyclone Fengal.

Here are the details of the declared holidays:

Nilgiri District: Collector Lakshmi Bhavya has announced a holiday for all schools and colleges in Ooty, Kudalur, and Kotagiri taluks.

Namakkal District: Only schools in Kollimalai circle are closed.

Five Districts: A holiday has been declared for both schools and colleges in Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Krishnagiri, and Kallakurichi.

Four Districts: Schools alone are closed in Vellore, Tirupattur, Dharmapuri, and Ranipet.

Authorities are closely monitoring the weather, and further announcements will be made as necessary.
